Is Yoga Safe?
Many have asked us questions relating to the practice of yoga or even Christian yoga. The practice of yoga came from ancient India and was an integral part of their worship. Usually it was taught by a Hindu priest or someone else who had devoted their life to that. The short definition of yoga is to yoke, join, or unite with that field of Origin which we have termed God. Just by definition, yoga is the philosophy of oneself trying to unite with god and in so doing become one with it. This is the ultimate goal in yoga training and practice. Any Hindu if asked about yoga will say that yoga is Hinduism. These two things cannot be separated. The postures in yoga are derived from and symbolize ancient worship of false gods. There are many personal stories that we have linked here to further explain and clarify our statements here. The idea of combining Christian and yoga is like trying to say Christian Rock music. The two are totally opposite and cannot be combined. Yoga is the missionary agent of Hinduism. Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. II Corinthians 6:15-18 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. We know this will offend many, because this practice of yoga has spread like wild fire throughout America and even in Christian circles.
